East Coast Occupational Therapy was incorporated in 2018, by owner and CEO Zita MacDow. Our mission is to improve the health and wellness of the clients we serve, by providing thorough assessments, comprehensive treatment plans, and recommendations that are clear, pragmatic, and evidenced-based. We strive to provide the highest quality service, to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.
Occupational therapists consider all aspects of a person’s daily function, including physical, cognitive, mental health and environmental factors, and our treatment plans and recommendations are developed with an understanding of each client’s unique needs. The company provides a variety of services including ergonomic assessments, return-to-work programs, home safety assessments, and mental health intervention.
Zita MacDow

Zita’s background includes a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, and a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University. She is currently licensed to practice in Nova Scotia, by the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, and nationally in the United States, by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
Zita practices with professionalism and compassion, with an aim to fully understand her client’s needs and provide effective recommendations and interventions. She is known for her expertise in providing innovative solutions to address the function, safety, health and wellness of her clients. While working as a travelling therapist in the US, Zita was rated in the top 3 of over 1500 therapists, based on client, co-worker, and employer reviews.
