Mental Health Intervention

Our goal is to promote health and wellness for the clients we serve. This involves assisting individuals to develop healthy, productive daily routines, that include a balance of meaningful activities. Mental health assessment and intervention may include:

  • Understanding the client’s mental health symptoms and exploring barriers to participation in daily activities
  • Developing and implementing strategies to manage mental health symptoms
  • Increasing engagement in meaningful activities
  • Discussing strategies to address common side-effects of mental health symptoms, including decreased energy, poor sleep, and problems with memory, focus, and concentration
  • Developing short and long term personal goals
  • Helping the client to identify progress as therapy proceeds.

Treatment typically occurs over 6 – 12 sessions. Please call to discuss your needs.

PTSD, Anxiety & Depression

Zita is a registered provider with Veterans Affairs Canada and has experience working with individuals affected by post-traumatic stress disorder and associated conditions, such as anxiety and depression. These conditions often affect an individual’s daily function, from their ability to complete basic self-care tasks to organizing their daily affairs.

Clients with PTSD or associated conditions may have difficulty with focus, short-term memory, interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, and home management, due to their symptoms. Zita assists clients to identify their specific challenges, develop a plan to manage symptoms, and improve their ability to engage in daily tasks. This may include strategies for relaxation, grounding or mindfulness, and gradual exposure to meaningful activities, depending on the client’s needs.
